Formerly operating as Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina, Newport Harbor Island Resort is a hotel located at 1 Goat Island in Narragansett Bay. Built in 1969 on the site of a former U. S. Navy torpedo factory, the property features a 2024 redesign with weathered wide-plank oak floors, white tongue-and-groove ceilings, and handwoven weavings commissioned from New England artisan guilds. Outdoor ceremonies are held on the Lighthouse Lawn against the backdrop of the Newport Bridge and the historic Goat Island Lighthouse, while indoor events take place in the Rose Island Ballroom or the Beacon Ballroom. The 257-room resort features a 22-slip marina, a full-service spa with a dry eucalyptus sauna, and an outdoor pool with cabanas.
Food
Wedding packages include a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a display, followed by a plated dinner reception with a first course, two pre-selected entrées, and dessert. Plated dinner entrée prices range from $90 to $200 per person, with additional charges for first course upgrades and Surf & Turf options. Buffet and themed station options are also available.
