Built in 2010 within the historic Haskins Building on Main Street, the Shalin Liu Performance Center houses a 334-seat Concert Hall and a third-floor Reception Hall. Designed by Epstein Joslin Architects, the Concert Hall features Douglas fir timber framing, balcony railings of Balsam fir woven over steel, and walls lined with grey-beige stone panels that resemble Cape Ann granite. An 18-by-28-foot glass window behind the stage directly overlooks the ocean, with three sliding Douglas fir screens available to cover the glass. The third-floor Reception Hall accommodates up to 150 seated guests or 250 standing, with all food provided by external caterers. Venue rentals include access to a commercial catering kitchen, banquet chairs and tables, a Yamaha electric piano, an A/V system, and the Green Room, though food and beverages are not permitted inside the Concert Hall.
