Methodology
Where the pricing comes from
Three sources: pricing venues publish online (pricing pages, brochures and package guides); quotes and pricing packets couples have shared with OpenVenue; and package information venues sent us directly after we contacted them, explained the project and asked for their wedding pricing.
What it doesn't cover
This isn't every venue in Vermont. It covers the venues whose pricing we could get: some don't publish their prices and didn't respond when we asked, so they aren't included. Venues that keep their pricing private may cost more or less than those that share it, so read these figures as a picture of venues with available pricing rather than of the whole market.
How the figures are built
Figures are the estimated total cost of a 120-guest dinner reception, not a per-guest rate, built from each venue's package pricing plus the service charges, administrative fees, tax, bar and ceremony charges that venue applies. Dinner-serving venues only: 28 of 54 Vermont venues are excluded as brunch-only or venue-rental-only, which price on a basis that is not comparable. 2 more are excluded because their listed capacity cannot accommodate 120 guests; venues with no listed capacity are kept. Each venue's estimate is a low-high range and these figures use the high end of it; a group figure is the median of those high-end figures. Estimates built from venue pricing, not personal quotes.
