Located at 989 Ellington Road in South Windsor, Connecticut, The Mill on the River is a restaurant wedding venue housed in a restored, 200-year-old former grist mill once known as Podunk Mill. Waterfront ceremonies are held on the grounds in a garden area containing a white gazebo, a wooden boardwalk, and a promenade overlooking the Podunk River dam. Receptions are hosted in either the downstairs River Room, which features stone walls, a lounge bar, and a glass atrium, or the upstairs Rafters Room, which has rustic wooden decor, a private bar, and a balcony. Wedding packages include a three- or four-hour reception, a 2. 5- to 3. 5-hour open bar, a Spumante champagne toast, and floor-length ivory tablecloths.
